TERMS OF SERVICE

Rankin Rugs may change these Terms of Service without prior notice. Please read these carefully before conducting business with Rankin Rugs. By visiting our site and/or purchasing something from us, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service.

TERMS OF THE CONTRACT

These Terms of Service apply to all goods supplied by  Rankin Rugs; they do not affect your statutory rights.

Any order placed by you for goods advertised on our website is considered an offer by you to purchase the goods in your order. No contract exists between you and us until we have received and accepted your order. The notification of receipt is not a confirmation that the order has been accepted. We reserve the right to terminate the contract of sale if the payment for ordered goods is not received in full. All made-to-order pieces are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Shipping charges may apply in addition, these will be displayed and included in the total cost of the piece during the ordering process.

DESCRIPTION OF GOODS & MANUFACTURING PROCESS

i) All rugs produced by Rankin Rugs are produced on a made-to-order basis and are intricately hand crafted in a small mill in Bulgaria using ancient craftsmanship techniques. Due to the rare and time-consuming nature of the rugs’ production techniques, all rugs require a manufacturing lead time of 4 months minimum, this may be longer depending on the rug size and design complexity. This does not include shipping time. During the manufacturing time, Rankin Rugs will update you of any developments and updates regarding your rug order. We will be in touch at least once via email or phone with an update, and will provide images taken at the mill during the preparation process.

Due to the handmade quality of the rugs all collection pieces are subject to slight variations in design colour and size to the images shown on our website and/or social media channels. Please bear in mind that images are for illustrative purposes only, and due to the handcrafted quality of the pieces, wool colours may vary slightly to the concept images. We are able to share sample tufts during the production process should they be requested. This allows clients to tailor the rug precisely to their needs. If you would like to confirm design colours prior to purchase please contact rugs@rankinrugs.com.

ii) All objects and furniture pieces are produced on a made-to-order basis and require a minimum lead time of 5 weeks, this may be longer for custom materials. This does not include shipping time.

iii) All rings are produced on a made-to-order basis and require a minimum lead time of 5 weeks. This does not include shipping time.

COLOURS

We are dedicated to providing our collectors with accurate descriptions and visuals of pieces. Please bear in mind that some pieces advertised by Rankin Rugs are in the form of concept images and 3D renditions, and are for illustrative purposes only. They do their best to reflect the true nature of the pieces, however please allow for slight differences in colour and texture. Given the handcrafted nature of our objects, furniture, rugs and the dying process, please allow for slight differences in colour and/or size between all pieces. This is a reflection of the bespoke ancient craft and the rug's uniqueness. We take every care to ensure that the description and specification of our products are precise, however these are not intended to be binding and are intended only to give a general description of the products. Furthermore, while the colour reproduction of the products is a close representation, we cannot accept any responsibility for any variation in colour caused by the browser software, computer system or electronic device used to view the products. Please be aware that colours may appear more heightened and saturated over a screen and in different light conditions, and that these will vary slightly to the colours produced by the natural dyes.

SAMPLES

A Yarn/Sample Card is the best way to see an indication of the colours of your chosen design. Each card has a small swatch of wool or upholstery fabric attached to it, which the rug/chair will be matched to. Viewing the yarn strands from the side of this yarn card (i.e. looking into the ends of the strands) helps simulate cut pile wool. Due to the handcrafted nature of our products, the actual colour and surface texture may differ slightly from the samples. As with all raw materials and natural fibres, minor differences are inevitable. These should not be interpreted as defects but are a reflection of the handcrafted nature of the product.

PAYMENT PROCESSING

For custom pieces, clients will be invoiced once sizes and customisation details have been agreed on and the order has been placed. Payment should be made on receipt of the invoice. If your payment fails, your order will be cancelled within 14 days, unless you contact us to specify otherwise. Production of rugs will not commence until payment has been made in full and funds have cleared. Shipping and handling charges are applied per item, unless otherwise agreed. The customer is liable for any applicable customs duties, charges and fees upon arrival of goods to their country. Orders above 10,000 GBP are eligible for split payment, with a 50% deposit required to start the design process, and the remaining balance due before shipment. We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any third parties.

PLACING AN ORDER

By placing an order with Rankin Rugs you are confirming you have read and agreed to the terms, conditions and delivery times as laid out in writing on this site.  The contract of the sale is bound by the terms laid out in this document. The contract laid out in this document is between Rankin Rugs and yourself, the customer.  In the event of goods shipped to an addressee other than yourself (the customer), we have no contract between ourselves and the end receiver of the goods shipped (your customer). In this case we cannot mediate any aspect of the sale between yourself (the customer) and the end receiver of the goods shipped (your customer).
