Colourful, warm, and uplifting

MOST TREASURED ITEM YOU OWN?
I don’t have one really but I did find a little miniature house in Portobello market for £1 once - it was such a gorgeous sunny day and I remember feeling so happy walking down Golborne Road seeing all the friendly sellers that are there each Friday. I saw this little house and loved it - it always makes me happy looking at it. I collect them and want to make a little town - I have a house, post office, school, and windmill so far.

WHAT CHARACTERISTICS DO YOU LOOK FOR IN GOOD DESIGN?
Practicality and ease for moving around as a renter in London!

WHAT WAS THE FIRST PIECE YOU INVESTED IN?
I bought a print from the RA Summer Exhibition about 6 years ago - it has dancing figures on it and the phrases "dance is dreaming with your body" and "dance is the hidden language of the soul" - it always makes me excited to go dancing.

DO YOU HAVE A DREAM ART AND DESIGN COLLECTION?
The collection at Charleston House of the Bloomsbury set with the stunning works by Vanessa Bell and Winifred Nicholson. Also all the hand-painted furniture and interiors - it's a feast for the eyes.

WHO’S AN ARTIST YOU ADMIRE AND WOULD LOVE TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION?
Joana Choumali takes documentary photography and mixes the images with paint, fabric and embroidery. Her finished works are completely mesmerising and explore everyday scenes as well as some with important political messages.

ANY FAVOURITE FASHION/FURNITURE DESIGNERS?
I love following Copenhagen fashion week and admiring the street style as well as the designers showcasing their collections. This season I loved OpéraSPORT and Munthe.

WHAT WOULD YOUR FANTASY CHAIR BE LIKE?
It would definitely have a reclining option and would be brightly coloured to cheer up a rainy day - maybe with a little side table for a cup of tea.

HOW DOES SUSTAINABILITY AND CRAFT PLAY A ROLE IN YOUR ART AND DESIGN COLLECTION?
I love discovering second hand pieces that have a story behind them and imagining who owned them before and why. I also think it's important to support independent craftsmen who use sustainable materials.
